Drinks, Eats & Deets is a blog about delicious drinks, fabulous food and the details that pull it all together. Deets is short for details.

I've shared recipes about food and drinks, but now it is time to share about the #Deets. I believe there is great fun in the details. I believe you can show how much you care by making the smallest details just right.
First a little bit about me. I am a busy working mom to a 2 year old, Baby Deets, and a wife to Mr. Deets. I work in communications and have a great job in Washington D.C. I am working on my Masters of Arts in Strategic Communications, and I am launching this blog because I need a hobby. I know - it sounds crazy! How could a wife-mom-student-employee have extra time? Well, I don't. But, I do have a passion for entertaining and I want to share my perspective with this big crazy world. I should state upfront that I am not a chef. I am a great cook that is wiling to try new things. My husband is a chef, my brother is a chef, and my mother is a chef, and that makes me a well-trained taste tester! I am constantly surrounded by the best food and drinks and I love to provide the festive atmosphere to celebrate with friends and family.
I have been wanting to start a blog for quite some time. I work in communications and I often want to try out the techniques I use with my clients. This blog is an opportunity to try new things. This is my canvas, and I can't wait to create!
I am reading a book right now that says you have to put your intentions out there to stay accountable, so I will. This blog will become the go to place to plan a party. From the food and drinks to the details that pull everything together, I want to help plan your biggest parties down to your weeknight dinners. This blog will be a collaborative space with guest bloggers sharing their very own recipes and readers will comment with new twists and tweaks to improve on my work. OK, there. It is out there, I want to be successful. And to me success is knowing that this blog has made an impact on someone's life. I want to keep things short and simple so that other women that are as busy as me can enjoy this blog and basque in the deets of lovely week night meal.
Ok, now I'm hungry -- off to whip up a new recipe for tonight!
